Overview

Credit Insights is a user-centered tool designed to enhance financial literacy and empower users to take control of their credit health. The feature also provides tools to track progress and milestones, making credit improvement achievable and less intimidating. With real-time updates and tailored advice, Credit Insights aims to simplify credit management and support users in achieving their financial goals.

Goal

Recognizing the increasing demand for accessible financial education, our company identified an opportunity to create a solution that simplifies credit management. The aim is to provide users with clear, personalized insights into factors affecting their credit scores and actionable recommendations. We have partnered with Array to develop this feature and address the issue.

Problem

As Sr. Product Designer, our objective was to refine the onboarding process by thoroughly analyzing our previous approach. This involved a critical examination of the elements that contributed to our success and those that fell short. We aimed to categorize our findings into key areas: Communication Processes, Branding, Custom Work, and Scope. By dissecting these components, we can identify opportunities for improvement and create a more effective and user-centered onboarding experience.

Review and Redesign

Without the benefit of structured documentation—such as Jira tickets, PRDs, or formal requirements—I began this project by leveraging a preliminary prototype provided by Array. Recognizing that prototypes are merely initial models, I understood the urgency of defining the project further and ensuring alignment with the client's brand.

Interface Assessment

I conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the prototype, identifying critical findings and documenting accessibility issues. By taking detailed screenshots and measuring contrast ratios, I provided clear, actionable evidence of areas that did not meet WCAG AA standards.

Stakeholder and Vendor Collaboration

I established effective communication channels with stakeholders and the Array team to gain a deeper understanding of the feature's objectives and functionality. This collaboration laid the groundwork for enhancing brand consistency across the onboarding process.These actions not only helped refine the prototype but also ensured a user-centered approach that aligns with the client’s vision and requirements.
